THE ODI MASACRE "WE PAID WITH TEARS AND BLOOD"

On November 20th, 1999. Was the saddest and most horrifying experience for the Land and People of ODI... For the land was intoxicated with the blood of its residence..

Two weeks before the horrifying incidence, A Conel of the Nigerian Army, Accompanied by two junior military officers, two DSS, and Two Mobile Police Officers, were sent to ODI, Why? To arrest an ordinary local Lamptan suspected Thief.

Unfortunately for them, that day coincidentally happened to be a day set aside for a ritual procession, to cleans the land. And prior to that day, Town cryers were instructed to inform residence about the procession, with a strict warning that no foreigner should be found outside .

It was during the cleansing led by late Daddy Ken Niwegha of Blessed Memories, that these security personnels came for the arrest. So when they were found, it was like an abomination and desecration of the laws of the land.. But come to think of it, why will high profiled security personnels be sent to arrest just a pety local lamptan suspected thief? No doubt, this clearly shows the level of oppression that Odians were facing ...

Unfortunately for the security men, they  were abducted, murdered and buried. Only the driver narrowly escaped.. The driver sent the message  across, and it even got to the ear of the then President. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo ... Immediately he ordered for destruction of ODI Community and nothing breathing should be spared, even animals should be annihilated..

At first, the military troops deployed to ODI could not locate the community despite their automated navigational systems, the systems malfunctioned and their eyes were navigationally blinded by the deities of ODI. Even military  choppers flew across the town and all they could see is trees and bushes..

The then Governor of Bayelsa State Late Chief Solomon Diepreye Alameyesigha of blessed memories had to intervene to save his head from the President... Alameyeseigha had to send millions of Naira to the Pere of Ama-Bulu, and like Judas, he gave ODI a Judas Kiss, How? He came to ODI community in the disguise of trying to fortify them for the war ahead. He went to the river, fetch the waters with incantations, neutralized the protective powers of the Egbesu that was protecting her people ... And made them empty and exposed to the danger that was already at their door steps.

It was only then the military troops could locate the town as their navigational system became up and running ... For weeks it was a music of sparodic shooting as there were both casualties from both the military and the ODI warriors. Even my friend Mandela the Village brought up as he is popularly called, sustained multiple bullet wounds, but destiny has it that it was not his time, he would have died ..

Our youths died, our children died, even my grand father Bed Etete was shot and murdered in cold blood and his coups was swallowed by the ODI river, as his dead body was manipulated by the fishes crabs and the cray fishes .Our girls, wives and mothers were sexually asualted and murdered.

Our community was destroyed as every building was dynamited to the ground. Every were was littered with coups, and the community was suffocating with the stench of dead cacasies

That is why the gods of Bayelsa State and the gods of ODI will never forgive Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Atiku Abubaka ... No wonder when he came to Yenagoa for his Presidential Campaign, the cloud frowned as there was a heavy storm... If he likes he should take President Buhari to court, he will only end up spending more of his accumulated ill gotten wealth . he will never be president of Nigeria ... And any Ijaw Son who is in support of Atiku will never be Governor of Bayelsa State ..

From everything, we can  see that KOLGA has sacrificed immensely, from Adaka Boro, to Dan Etete, To Captain Owonaro, to T.K Ogoriba just to mension but a few .. For the gods of the Ijaw and God in heaven will never be happy for any one working against the KOLGA Agenda. For KOLGA must rule, better still an ODI man will be more preferable, because they have paid with TEARS & BLOOD ..

How glad we are for a time like this, our Son has offered himself for service, we will all que behind him.. For not just because he is from KOLGA or he is from ODI, but because he is a good man, a philanthropist, a business man who has shown capacity, a new wine in a new bottle, an untaped reservoir ...

With God on our side creek heaven awaits her new occupant ...... Prince (Engr.) Preye Aganaba .
