Right before the first premiere of Lionheart on Saturday, Netflix announced that it had bought worldwide rights to ‘Lionheart’ and according to them, this will be the first Netflix original film from Nigeria. With a star-studded cast consisting of Pete Edochie, Onyeka Onwenu, and Kanayo O. Kanayo, – and a gripping story line, Lion Heart follows the hardworking Adaeze (Genevieve), who must work together with her incompetent uncle (played by Nkem Owoh and his plenty ‘papa’s caps’) to save her father’s failing transport business. The movie is Genevieve’s directorial debut and just premiered at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival.
